Topic outline

  • In this course you will learn to use PCRaster for hydrological analysis and dynamic modelling.

    We'll start with getting acquainted to PCRaster operations through a graphical user interface with the QGIS PCRaster Tools plugin. Next, we'll use PCRaster in Python for map algebra. Finally we'll develop a spatial dynamic model using the PCRaster Dynamic Modelling Framework in Python.

    We assume that you already have some knowledge of GIS, Python and hydrology.

    After this course you will be able to:

    • Perform stream and catchment delineation in QGIS using the PCRaster Tools plugin
    • Apply map algebra in Python for hydrological analysis
    • Develop dynamic models in Python using the PCRaster Dynamic Modelling Framework
