This workshop for the QGIS 2024 Conference is based on Chapter 4 of the book QGIS for Hydrological Applications - 2nd Edition, by Hans van der Kwast and Kurt Menke, published by Locate Press.By purchasing the book you support students from the Global South to join QGIS and FOSS4G events.The most common use of GIS for professionals in hydrology and water management is covered in this workshop, where you will be guided through the procedure to perform stream and catchment delineation.
Prerequisites
A basic knowledge of QGIS is required for this course.Required resources
Hardware:
Laptop or PC with at least 8GB RAM (16GB recommended), mouse, internet connection.
Software:
We only support laptops or pc's with the Microsoft Windows operating system.QGIS 3.34.x (free download at http://www.qgis.org). Instructions will be given in the Getting Started section.
