Fire Risk Map

In the Extra Assignment you can repeat the steps you have done during this module to practice more with QGIS and all the tools. We used a location in Indonesia earlier, but we are going to a different country for this chapter, Australia.

Australia is known for bush and forest fires, so it is an interesting study area to look at. While you could pick any part of the country, we are going to focus on the Blue Mountains. This is a National Park near Sydney, New South Wales, and has had some big fires in the past. Much like our previous study area, this includes forest, built-up area, water, and agriculture. We will use similar types of data, but now of the Blue Mountains, which means we have to go back and download some new data.

The Extra Assignment will explain what you need to do and what data you need, but performing the data preparation and analyses is up to you. Of course, you can always use the main module as a reference if you don’t know how to proceed. Below is also a flowchart of all the steps and tools you'll have to use.
